Welcome to the Rochester Deaf Sports Organization web site! We originally were recognized as the
Rochester Rascals Deaf Softball Organization (RRDS). After a while we realized that in Rochester we also have other
major sports in town such as Flag Football, and Basketball and wondered why not all sports become one big organization.
This way we can work together to make all of our teams successful all year round. Any other major sport is welcome to
join us.
Our mission is that we want to contribute to the Rochester Deaf community of all ages the
opportunity to exhibit physical awareness and promote a healthy lifestyle. Sports has many purposes: enhances personal
growth, encourages interaction with a diversity in people and skills. Playing sports is a time for all athletes to put their
personal issues aside and come together to
play as a team. For our traveling teams, they benefit new traveling experiences visiting other
states and if it ever happens, out of the country too, meeting other deaf people in other parts, and promoting
advertisement experiences for our sponsors.
